6 weeks is up

Well the life of being a stay at home mom is over for me and the life of a casual LT is over for Zed. We are both back to real life. Thankfully Zed's parents are here to help ease the transition.

My first day back went ok. Leaving her was tough, but the day went ok. Some days are going to be harder than others, but today was a good day.

Zed has already completed a physical fitness test and a memorized test. Tomorrow he gets to wear a flight suit and possibly go in the altitude chamber. All he has this week from 7-5 is physiology so the schedule is pretty boring. He does have his first academic test on Thursday.

New with Mia:
She is sleeping for about 4-5hrs at a time now which is awesome at night. She is starting to coo and smiles back at you, sometimes. She smiles most when her diaper is being changed. We've started using the bumbo, but we have to prop her up in it or she falls over. She loves her bath, she splashes and smiles and it's when she's happiest. She's in a growing spurt right now so she's eating 5oz at a time.

Happy Easter!

Weekly Update

New Tricks:
She now follows people and objects with her eyes and head as they move in front of her.

Sleeping:
When I picked her up out of her crib this morning she had done a 180 and her arm and leg were sticking between the slats...she's a mover. She's still sleeping about 3hrs at a time during the night.

Eating:
Starting to eat more around 4-5oz at a time.

Other Things:
We had a great visit with Melissa Bringhurst, one of our host mom's from the Academy. Mia got to go where Elvis got his first guitar in Tupelo, MS and visited his home in Graceland. Our next guests come in on Monday...Grandpa and Grandma Davies! Lets just say Stacy and Elaine are super excited to meet her.

Zed & Sam:
Zed completed Woodbadge this past weekend and has received his scheduled for the next 7wks. It looks like his days will go from 7/8 to 5 every day. There are a few that start earlier than 7 and a few that go later than 5 but this first stage seems pretty manageable time wise. There is a picture of his schedule for this week below. I had my post delivery checkup and things are great. I'm cleared to work out again which I'm excited about. This is my last week of maternity, I start back to work April 2nd.

One Month Old

New Tricks:
She got really mad and rolled from her belly to her back. She is also smiling a lot more

Eating:
She's eating about 5oz every 2-3hrs

Sleeping:
Some nights are better than others, but she's sleeping between 2 and 5 hrs at a time at night depending on how much we play with her during the day.

Other Things:
So I weighed myself while holding Mia and not holding her and there was a 9.4lb difference. My cousin Rachael is here for the week and is enjoying our warm weather and Mia. We had a tornado warning yesterday. None hit near us but there were some in Alabama.

Zed and Sam:
Zed has started memorizing things for pilot training and has started get pre-flight physicals. Next week he'll be taking different sleeping and energy pills to figure out what works best for when he starts flying. I have my post delivery check up on Friday and will hopefully be cleared to start working out again.

3wks

New Tricks:
She's learned that if she cries she gets attention...we're breaking that. She's smiling a lot more often.

Sleeping:
She now sleeps in her crib during the night. She's consistently sleeping for 3hrs at a time, but no longer.

Eating:
She's eating a ton and chunking up well. Our bathroom scale still doesn't register her weight so she's under 10lbs.

Other Things:
We took Mia on her first road trip to see one set of my sponsor parents, the Hendricks. she did great on the way down and cried almost the entire way back. We all survived, and we'll see how she does on a plane in a few months. Our next wave of visitors start this weekend. Auntie Ray, my cousin, is coming for a few days and then Zed's sponsor mom, Melissa Bringhurst, is coming out. She loves to hang out in the front pack, it's been a savior.

Zed & Sam:
Zed has his big Scout fundraiser this weekend, a BBQ and Service Auction. Not too much is new. We're both learning how to get along with less sleep.

2wks Old

New Tricks:
Rolled from her back to her belly
Lost the black stump and has a belly button

Sleeping:
She's sleeping for only 2hrs at a time now. She spoiled us the first week sleeping for 4hrs at a time. Her favorite way to fall asleep is on Zed or my chest. Once she's out we can move her into the bassinet thankfully.

Eating:
If she's not sleeping, she's wanting to eat.

Other Things:
We got some pictures of her taken this past week. We'll be sure to share them as soon as we get them. She is using a pacifier, which helps delay the time in between feedings. She loves riding in the car, but we live in Mississippi and there are a ton of pot holes. They scare her awake :) we took her on her first walk, it wore her out. She took a 4hr nap once we got home.

Dad & Mom:
Zed went to Wood Badge (Boy Scouts for adults) this past weekend so it was a mom and daughter weekend. We made it through, but I appreciate Zed's help so much more now. I've lost 25lbs since having Mia and have another 15 to go. I still have 4wks until I can work out again though, something I'm looking forward to.
